COURSE

Pests and fungi that can affect urban trees

Various pests have had a major impact on our urban tree population over the last 40 years. Some examples of this are Dutch elm disease, ash shoot disease and chestnut blight. By increasing knowledge about these pests, it is possible to create better conditions for prevention, monitoring and measures.

One area where many people feel uncertain is fungi, which are common in both urban and suburban environments. Often, trees are even cut down out of fear when fungi are discovered on them. This course covers a number of pests and the most common types of fungi that you, as a property manager, should be aware of when managing large tree populations.
