Örjan has more than 30 years of experience in trees, construction and wiring and is one of Sweden's foremost specialists in solutions to conflicts between trees and technical infrastructure in the ground.
Today, he works on developing and implementing solutions for sustainable tree planting in urban environments, with a particular focus on planting beds, skeletal soil and protection of trees during works. His expertise in moving large trees has been crucial in several major infrastructure projects in Sweden.
Örjan has been involved in the development of methods and techniques for urban tree planting and stormwater management in built-up areas. He has been involved in the development of plant beds for trees in skeletal soil and contributed to several important publications, including Plant beds for urban trees in Stockholm - a handbook and Swedish Water P105 Sustainable storm and drainage water management.
Over the last ten years, he has also been involved in product development of alternative plant substrates using pumice and biochar. With his solid experience, he is a key person in issues related to the conditions of trees in the built environment.
